I fell asleep during the first half of AVPSY.

I totally don’t judge this person, at all.
It was a LONG show and it was after the second really late night in a row, and lots of waiting to be let in to actually see it.
I loved the show, and I tried to pay attention and I think I did for the most part but you know three hours in I couldn’t help but have my mind wander to how hungry I was, and how much I needed a shower. LOL. But it’s still a fantastic show.
**THIS IS WHY WE NEED THEM TO EDIT IT, TO MAKE IT SMOOTHER, TOUCH IT UP, MAKE IT MORE WATCHABLE. MAKE IT A MORE ENJOYABLE EXPERIENCE. THIS IS WHY IT’S TAKING SOME TIME. BE PATIENT WITH THEM. THEY (NICK AND MATT MOSTLY) WANT IT TO BE THE VERY BEST IT CAN BE.
And that might lead to cutting some parts of it, you know?
Don’t be mad. You’ll love it just as much. Hell, you’ll love it even more I think, if it’s a slightly more unified show.

Confession: my friend and I left at intermission. I understand the second half was amazing, but let’s be real right now. Team Starkid’s strengths are in comedy, in music, in acting, in cleverness… but not in making a tight show. I understand it’s hard to cut out stuff when you’re dealing with a huge amount of source material to parody, but three hours is too long for a first act of any play. There was plenty they could have cut— that was either not strictly necessary to the plot, or that was not quite as funny, or that actually crossed the fine line Starkid has walked in the past in terms of offensiveness.
So my friend and I left during intermission, went to Mark Reads Fanfic, and laughed until we cried. It was an amazing opportunity to see Starkid perform a play live for the first time, but… I don’t know. I think if they spent more time tightening up the script and cutting out large swathes of it, they’d have also had more time to spend on rehearsing a shorter show.
Eh.

Little White Lie: Episode 1

“Music; it’s an ancient power. Some can wield it, and we call them rock stars. The question is…are they born or made? All I know is some people have it… and some people don’t.”

It is Silver Spring, not Silver Springs. THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE.*

Kind regards,

A resident of Silver Spring (who is totally psyched to go and to meet all of you fine** people!)

*I realize that there are cities called “Silver Springs” in Alaska, Florida, Nevada, New York, and Calvary (hello to my Canadian brethren!)… and also a Silver Spring, Pennsylvania. YES I CAN USE WIKIPEDIA. But the Apocalyptour is only going to one Silver Spring, and that is in Maryland. BOOYAH.

**not “just fine,” fine as in “gurl you so fwiiiiiiiiine!” (also, if you got that reference, YES we can totally be friends!)

Starkid is coming back to the Filmore- it is just me or are the VIP tickets a bit more expensive this time around?

So excited!! I only see one price though, which I guess is GA? That apparently is $5 more than last time, so I’d venture to say the VIP would be more as well. Looks like there’s a two-tier VIP thing going on too, but I don’t see any further information on the LiveNation website. Meanwhile, I also don’t see Starkid on the Fillmore website so can’t get more info there. Hmmm…

But non-teenager party at Apocalyptour, y/y????
